(Band Introduction) ( live, : Ventura Theater, Ventura, CA, USA)Īmerica feat. "So Fine" is on an inexpensive 5 track CD D2-79016 and "Everyone Has Their Own Ideas" is the last track on the Rarities disc in "Box Set" 7559-62717-2.100 Voices Bryndle The Fraternal Order of the All Villiers and Gold Wax ( 80s Pop group, a/k/a Wax UK) The twin album CD is definitely worth buying, TSP is good if you want everything. They might be alternate versions to those released on those albums, there are no liner notes. There are 4 bonus tracks "Sweet Summer Blue and Gold", "If I Were You", "Train and the River", and "All The Beautiful Things", which are all from TSP. Vol.3 was a levelling off, but is even more favouring Linda, its the first with Linda's name on the front cover. Better material for a girl singer, Nick Venet knew what worked, & possibly told/chose songs that benefitted Linda most. 2" shows a great improvement in Linda's singing, with of course, "Distant Drum" on it, but other good songs as well. This was a quieter, more level recording, but still good audio quality, both in stereo. Stone Poneys and friends" are both together on a Norwegian CD DD#27632863. Accompanying & harmonising was where she sounded best, but I will compare with my vinyl versions. Linda's singing on TSP was, on its own, not very musical to me. This was a fairly bass heavy, but deep rich sounding cut/remastering, the opposite from "Best of Capitol". I listened to "The Stone Poneys" CD ST2666. Went on a listening journey today through all 3 Stone Poneys albums, preluded by "So Fine" & "Everybody Has Their Own Ideas", 2 of the 3 Mike Curb 1966 recordings made before the 'Poneys signed up to Capitol ("West Wind", the 3rd was never released). So now having bought & listened to all 3 of the Linda Ronstadt 24K Audio Fidelity CDs, my ranking is #1 Heart Like A Wheel, #2 Greatest Hits 2, #3 Greatest Hits 1.

Mad Love needs a whole remaster!įinally, Someone To Lay Down Beside Me, the only song from Hasten Down The Wind album, I found no better or worse than the MFSL remastered version, HDTW is my favourite MFSL Linda album, & 1st= overall with HLAW. Those tracks from Mad Love I Can't Let Go, Hurt So Bad, How Do I Make You, all sound more 3D than the same on my standard CD. Ooh Baby Baby sounded better, truer, on the AF, Linda's Motown voice doing great justice to the song. Back in the USA is equally enjoyable on both MLP and AF, more bass & grunt on the AF, more brassiness on the MLP. I found that I prefer its Just One Look to the AF version, mainly for the MLP's tinklier, more magical piano. My Japanese mini-LP of Living in the USA is very good listening. Linda's singing sounded less veiled, and more front & centre. The SD tracks, Its So Easy, Blue Bayou, Poor Poor Pitiful Me & Tumbling Dice were all great, mist improved were the first & last of that list. My listening, on speakers, revealed improvements on both Simple Dreams MFSL and standard CDs.

Finally my Greatest Hits 2 Audio Fidelity CD has arrived! Its much better than GH1, but to be fair its a later remastering by Hoffman and has tracks from Hasten Down The Wind, Simple Dreams, Living in the USA, and Mad Love - better recorded than Linda's earlier hits on GH1, & the masters were I expect in better condition.
